Sex with daughter disgusting and deplorable

Act to stop further deterioration of morality

I refer to the shocking report, “My dad, my lover” (Star 21 November) which made many right-thinking Malaysians feel very sick to the core.

Sex with one’s own daughter is a grievous and unforgivable sin that is strongly condemned by all cultures and religions. In fact most communities recommend the most severe forms of corporal punishment for such perpetrators.

This man treated his own daughter like a prostitute to satisfy his carnal appetite. We should all condemn his immoral acts in the strongest terms. Hope the authorities take prompt action to bring him to justice and mete out severe punishment so that others will be deterred from committing such sins.
Even the worst fathers will protect his daughters at all costs, even giving up their own lives at times. Even many criminals and thugs who frequent prostitutes may not go to girls of their daughter's age. That much respect and love fathers have for their own daughters.

The love of a father for his daughter is highly noble not carnal like in the case of this father. It is hard to understand how his fatherly love for her as a baby and child can turn to lust years later. It is frightening to think that a young girl cannot be safe with her own father. If she cannot find the security with her own father, who else can she turn to in times of trouble or need? The behavior of this father is highly disgusting, deplorable and insane which all right thinking humans must condemn to the utmost

Immoral behaviors like this are becoming more rampant in our society which in the past used to take pride of the high morals among the people. We claim to have become more religious, giving great importance to spiritual activities, prayers and worship but the moral values among our people seem to have declined instead of rising as it should be with the increasing spirituality.

With such perverted morality as incest, rape and other sexual and other crimes becoming more and more frequent and blatant, we tend to wonder where we are we leading to as a human society? Will humanity ever return to the era of strict morality, discipline and respect for the elderly which produced many great men and women of the past? Will the fear of God that ruled us before ever return?

While the answers to these may not in the affirmative it is however timely to seriously look into this problem of declining morality in our society and take remedial steps to check further deterioration. Proper moral education and true leadership by example are the only ways to check such rot in our society.

Death – A reflection

Death a lesson for the living

When a person close to us dies or when a death occurs in our family it is usually a time of great sorrow and sadness.  The thought that we will never see the person again brings unbearable pain in our hearts that may last a long time, at times even forever, depending on how close we were with that person.

We often console ourselves that the deceased person had died peacefully without much pain for some the death had rescued the person from and suffering he was going through in life. The faith we profess gives us some joy that he will be in heaven with God. These thoughts bring a little comfort as we bid him the final goodbye.

In the midst of all the sorrow and pain, death more importantly should be a cause for reflection. How did the dead person affect us? How did he/she touch us? How did we treat the person when he was alive? It is a time for us to express remorse, repent and correct our wrongs. It is the time to repay our gratitude to the person by promising to keep alive his good values and cherish every moment we had with him.

Everyone who walks on this earth leaves behind something for us to learn. Death is the time to learn some useful lesson from the experiences of the deceased, the good should be of what we should adopt and the bad of what we should avoid. No death should be in vain as every death should be a lesson for the living.

Remembering Mahatma Gandhi Bday 2013

A tribute to the soldier of peace
Tomorrow 2 October is Mahatma Gandhi's 144th birthday. This great man lived a life of extreme simplicity promoting peace and non-violence at all costs. He was against any form of violence for whatever reason and he called himself a soldier, not one who fights wars but a soldier of peace. He defeated the might of the British Empire not with force but by his non-violence  and peaceful resistance to its racist policies which won him the respect and admiration of the whole world including the British themselves.
It is ironical that he spent his entire life fighting a war against violence but ultimately was killed violently at an advanced age at the hands of his own people who felt he was selling off their rights to the enemies.
As a tribute to this great man whom many called Mahatma, I like to share a short self-compiled video of him. He was not a man of great wealth or power and neither was he the ruler of vast empires, but he left behind a simple and humble legacy that has become the conscience in the hearts of millions to this day.

56th Merdeka

Merdeka,Merdeka,Merdeka
Today West Malaysians celebrate their 56th.Merdeka with a sense of fear of uncertainties of what is going to happen to their future and that of their children. A day that used be one of great joy and patriotism when we were young as become one that is marred by the many unpleasant incidents that occur every day. Reflecting on what is going on today in our country it is sad that we are not progressing as we should as envisaged by our fore-fathers.
The pressing problems we face today as citizens in our beloved country are:

1.Racial polarisation. After 56 years of Independence Malaysians are still very much divided along ethnic and religious lines. In fact we are worse off than when we started. So much hatred for others is being sowed in the hearts and minds of the people, worse so at a very tender age in primary schools when children should be innocently mingling around freely without thinking of the color of their skin or the faith they profess.

2. Rampant corruption. Today corruption has become an accepted practice. It has gone into mega scales and leaders who are to be examples have become involved in siphoning billions into their pockets. The rich are getting richer and poor getting poorer.

3.Escalating crime rate. The crime rate in the country has reached unacceptable levels where the people are now living in fear for their safety and that of their loved ones..The police seem unable to control crime and provide adequate security for the citizens. Thugs and criminals are taking control with the police is incapable or refusing to do anything drastic to stop them. A state of lawlessness appear to be imminent which sends shivers among the people

4. Deteriorating standards in all fields - Education, health, financial management and almost every field to look into, the quality and standards are nose-diving to worrisome levels. The frightening thing is that the government is least perturbed by these deteriorating standards and adverse international assessments. The government of the day appears to be incapable of proper management of its resources and responsibilities to the people. The nation seems to have lost its direction as it is on auto-cruise with no strong and decisive leadership.

5. Severe brain drain. The best brains in the are leaving the country due to unfair policies resulting in the country going backwards rather than forwards.

6.Blatant and gross abuse of power where ordinary man on the street cannot get justice with the public services, police and judiciary which are highly politicized and subdued by those in power. Ordinary citizens have become fearful of cooperating with the law enforcement agencies as the whistle-blowers get punished more often than the law breakers. Law abiding right thinking citizens are punished but criminals w3ho abuse the law go scot-free

There is an urgent need for change in the country which the people at large were prevented from doing so at the last 13GE.We cannot go on like this for long. Change must come and the sooner the better but the people are not sure how to bring about it. The people are unhappy, frustrated helpless and do not know what to do. More and more people are beginning to believe that only divine intervention can save the country from ruin and destruction.

On this 56th Merdeka let us all unite for once, regardless of the faith we profess and the God we worship, to pray for our country that goodwill, logic and reason will prevail. Let us pray that the good will triumph over evil for the well-being, peace and progress of all citizens regardless of race or creed.

 God bless Malaysia

Happy Merdeka

CNY - Year of the dragon
