COVID -19; Let’s fight together

The ongoing Covid-19 infection has taken the whole world by fear, like never before. The mass ‘hysteria-like’ reaction’ is out of proportion to what the danger really is.This is mainly to due the social media that has made the world very small where information is readily accessible to everyone from any nook and corner.

There is no doubt that Corona virus is a real danger and threat as it can spread very fast and can be deadly. We should be very cautious and take all necessary precautions to prevent the infection and its spread. This is especially important for those at high risk, like elderly and those with medical problems who can readily succumb to its fatal outcome.

The government is doing its best to contain the disease but we too must do our part by strictly adhering to the guidelines given by the authorities. At the same time let us not create panic by spreading news that are not correct and over-reacting to the threat of the virus.

We particularly salute our medical and health personnel involved in the treatment of infected cases, screening and prevention the spread of the disease.Their services are great sacrifices on their part,,exposing to the risk of contacting the disease themselves.

For their relentless services,we thank them

Covid -19,Are we over-reacting?

Feeling dejected in own country

In the whole recent political crisis, the backdoor change of government, the appointment of the new PM and the formation of the new cabinet, the biggest losers are the minorities, who seem to have been marginalized from the corridors power.

It is sad and painful that after over 6 decades of sacrificing so much for our country that we love so much,we are made to feel alien in our own land. Each and everyone of us have contributed so much for making the country what it is today, but these are just forgotten and gone.

As we go through this painful and disheartening period, let us not give up our hope but continue to strive to return our country to what it used to be,a racially united, progressive and harmonious Malaysia.

Deepavali 2019

Light up the darkness overshadowing us

The celebration of Deepavali or Divali, may have religious roots of origin in Hinduism but today it is generally regarded as a festival of lights. It has far reaching implications and meaning in the life of each one of us.

Diwali is considered the symbol of the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance".

This is of special significance to us in Malaysia which today when the nation is engulfed by dark clouds of gloom over the future of our nation. Yes, our nation is being swallowed by black clouds of racism that bitterly divide our people. The light of a united multiracial Malaysia that was shining bright before is now flickering and getting dimmer and there is real danger it may fade away and thereby thrusting the nation into permanent darkness.

As we celebrate the festival of Lights, let us do our part as citizens to keep the light on strong so that it can dispel the ever-increasing darkness in our midst and brighten the path we tread. Let us rid of the inherent racist tendencies in us and embrace one another with goodwill.

We hope and pray the people will be enlightened to resist being misled by selfish leaders, who don't respect the verdict of the people and take them for granted.

For over 60 years we have we have painstakingly learnt to live in peace and harmony with mutual respect and tolerance for our differences. Our unity was the strength and the secret of our success story as a nation. Let us not allow anyone or any group to divide us for whatever reason.

As the saying goes, "United we stand, divided we fall", it is in unity lies our strength to triumph over the darkness, the evil and ignorance.

God bless Malaysia

Happy Deepavali
