Najib's reputations versus Anwar's clownish strategy

  
In the Star today, in its report "Daim: Najib employed wrong strategy in polls" former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin referred to Anwar Ibrahim was a clown.

He blamed Najib for using his popularity to win which he failed miserably.What reputation does Umno has to depend on it to win?Umno is not what we used to know before.All we have in  Umno today are racist and corrupt.Even the hard-core Malay supporters are leaving and it is on the verge of collapse.

As to Daim calling Anwar a clown.This is what I have to say of the opposition leader:

1.He attracts huge crowds who take pains to come for his ceramah.Never seen such crowds before.
2.He promises to regain the billions of ringgit from those who robbed from the people,including Daim.
3.He promises to restore all the rot daim and BN had done.
4.He promises to bring back the people's dignity especially the poor
5.He promises to dismantle racism from our system
6.He has succeeded in forming a formidable opposition to check the abuses of BN for the forst time in 1/2 a century
7.And most important he has united the people especially the young of all races and creed to think as Anak Malaysia - not Malay,Chinese or Indian but Anak Malaysia
8.He has given hope to the people for a better Malaysia not a rotten one like we have today

Although that ray of hope may be temporarily dampened it is not extinguished,it will be rekindled in the near future.If all these are characteristics of a clown,then so be it.Let's have more clowns then.

Post GE impasse : Listening to people the only way out

Three weeks has passed since the GE13, nine Mammoth Black505 rallies have been organized all over the country with over ½ million people mainly youth have gathered in large numbers to protest the fraudulent elections which resulted in BN with less than 47% of the popular votes taking over the federal government, forcing the PR with over 51% of the votes back into the opposition.

The EC has been blamed for its lopsided attitude to help BN win by its unscrupulous and undemocratic means. The opposition parties are producing all forms of convincing evidence. These include open bribery, abuse of power by the caretaker government, a media that is one-sided in favour of the incumbent, phantom voters, foreign voters, abuse of early and postal votes, unusual blackouts at counting centres during the tallying of votes, mysterious ballot boxes being sent in late into the counting centres, and the most obvious cheating with the indelible ink which was easily washed away after voting.

Despite all the evidence and hundreds of thousands of people coming to protest, there is yet any definite response from the EC or the BN government. Such silence is a sign of total disrespect for the rakyat.

Instead of making efforts to address the people’s grouses the government has adopted a confrontational stance, arresting those who organize the rallies that are peaceful and legal. Such high-handed and intimidating tactics will only further aggravate the people’s anger towards the EC and the government.

The fact that the EC knew about the ink being not indelible but kept quiet about it is tantamount cheating the voters and that is itself enough to make the GE13 results null and void. If it was faulty then they should not have used it and make a mockery of the most important democratic process and make a fool of the voters who took the GE13 so seriously to make the voter turnout the highest in the history.

The people had placed so much importance on this election but they were taken for a ride by the EC. How can the EC take things so lightly when it was pointed out they have cheated the people?

Even now after more that 1/2 a million people taking to peaceful rallies to vent their frustrations and anger over being cheated of their votes, the EC does not appear to be perturbed. What kind of EC is this? What more does it want from the people?

The people have put forward two demands; firstly the EC must immediately resign en block and a new EC  appointed with people of high integrity and secondly the new EC must conduct new elections, free and fair, in the 30 or so seats which were won by BN by dubious means.

Until these demands are met the opposition with the solid support of the rakyat have wowed to continue the fight for electoral justice by all peaceful means available to them within the law. From the determination and enthusiasm showed by the people at large it looks like they are not going to give p their fight easily.

The ball is now at the court of the EC and BN govt. They have to think very carefully of their next move as they are dealing with a young but matured and anti-racist rakyat who cannot be fooled by empty promises or cowed by confrontational threats. The best way out for them is to in give to the wishes of the people, which will be good for all parties.

 Giving in to the wishes of the people is a sign strength and victory not weakness  and defeat.

DEALING with INSULT by Lord Buddha

 

The Buddha explained how to handle insult and maintain compassion.

One day Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. "You have no right teaching others," he shouted. "You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake."

Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man "Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?"

The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, "It would belong to me, because I bought the gift."

The Buddha smiled and said, "That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself."

"If you want to stop hurting yourself, you must get rid of your anger and become loving instead. When you hate others, you yourself become unhappy. But when you love others, everyone is happy."

The young man listened closely to these wise words of the Buddha. "You are right, O Enlightened One, "he said. "Please teach me the path of love. I wish to become your follower."

The Buddha answered kindly, "Of course. I teach anyone who truly wants to learn. Come with me."

 

Gautama Buddha was a prince by birth and sheltered from all sufferings around him.But on encountering the suffering in his kingdom he decided to leave the palace at the age of 29 and go in search of truth and the real meaning of life and death which he did in his "Nirvana",a state of supreme liberation of the mind - free from ignorance,greed,hatred and other afflictive states.

He is one of the greatest man to walk in flesh and blood on this earth and his teachings bring inner peace and tranquility in a turbulent world of materialism.

Wesak day greetings

 


Today is Wesak day informally called "Buddha's Birthday", it actually commemorates the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautama Buddha. He was one of the greatest human on earth,who lived and taught us the way to live our lives meaningfully as humans. 






His concept of fighting our inner greed and anger are the basis of inner happiness and peace.Sharing a few words of Wisdom of this great man.

At a time of political instability and turmoil in our country let us all adopt the virtues of love,patience and humility as taught by Buddha in dealing with one another especially those who disagree and oppose us.

Police resorts to violence to break up Adam's peaceful vigil

 

 Beaten & arrested for lighting up candle near police station  - Kenny Teh, one of the 18 detained at Jinjang police station. He was assaulted before hauled up by the plainclothes. 

Will this beating deter this young man?I doubt otherwise he wouldn't have been at Jinjang Police remand centre last night to join the thousands of Malaysians fighting for Adam's justice.

Adam is not his brother nor is he a relative but just a fellow citizen.Yet he went out risking his life to fight for his fellow Anak Malaysia who is being detained unjustly.

This is the New Malaysia(post GE13) which we all want and which the BN refuses to accept for obvious reasons.

Staying vigil with Adam Adli,the new Malaysian hero

 

 More than 3,000 people gather outside Jinjang Police station in a candle-light vigil for the release of Adam Adli.Malaysians of races and all walks of life are coming out in support of Adam.It is indeed a heart-warming sight.

 

 

 

They even bring children along for life-example of showing concern

Unfortunately such an encouraging and touching scene of peaceful people gathering in concern for a young citizen cannot be tolerated by the heartless and merciless authorities who call in the FRU to disperse them.

They act so inhumanely without any feelings for the peace-loving and caring fellow citizens but they expect us to vote for them.
